Online Mediation Orientation

Both parents must complete the Online Mediation Orientation before their mediation appointment. It takes about 45 minutes and explains what to expect from mediation (Child Custody Recommending Counseling). There are three steps: watch the video, review the Information Packet, and submit your Certificate of Completion.

  • Watch the Orientation Video

    Watch California Child Custody Mediation: Focus on the Child's Needs in its entirety. The video is about 30 minutes long.

  • Review the Information Packet

    Review the Family Court Services Information Packet in its entirety. It explains what mediation is, how to prepare, the rules that apply, and what happens afterward.

  • Submit Your Certificate of Completion

    After you finish Steps 1 and 2, complete the Certificate of Completion below. Initial each item to confirm you watched the video and reviewed the packet, then sign and submit. A copy will be emailed to you for your records. Each parent must submit their own certificate.

    Prefer a paper copy? Download the printable Certificate of Completion (PDF), then:

    • Email it to Mediation@LassenCourt.ca.gov, or
    • Deliver it to Family Court Services at the Hall of Justice, 2610 Riverside Drive, Susanville, CA 96130.

  • Haven't Submitted Your Intake Packet?

    Each parent must also submit a Mediation Intake Packet before mediation can be scheduled.
